A DAY AT THE MILL
As Utrecht’s best kept secret, our mill is located in the beautiful Molenpark where you can really relax.
You are welcome at the Molencafé for a tasty snack and a drink on our sunny waterside terrace. In the millyard you will find a playground, farm animals, and a large lawn. We organize fun (children’s) activities all year round. Every Saturday you can look inside the sawmill and follow a guided tour.

The menu has many tasty things for young and old.
Treat yourself with a delicious coffee and tea while the children enjoy a fresh smoothie or homemade soda.
Of course we prepare tasty, sustainable lunch sandwiches and we bake delicious types of cake and cookies in house
In the summer you can cool down with an organic ice cream and in the winter you can warm up with a hot chocolate with whipped cream.
Come play outside at Molen de Ster.
In the playground you can climb and slide, make sand castles and there are many children’s bicycles to enjoy cycling.
When you’re done with all that, there’s a lawn where you can play tag or borrow a garden game set at the bar.
The playground is completely enclosed with a fence so that moms and dads can relax and drink a tasty coffee on one of the benches.

There is always something fun to do at the mill.
On Saturday there are guided tours of the mill between 1:00 and 4:00 pm. Meet a real miller and go up into the mill with the tour guide and see how the wood is sawn with wind energy. The tours are especially fun for 5 year olds and over.
Fun (children’s) activities are organized all year round in and around the mill. Check out our culture calendar for all events.
From April till September you can rent a boat from BuurtBoot during the weekend . Step directly from the yard in one of these cut boats built by the neighborhood and take a trip on the Leidsche Rijn. Reservations for the same day can be made at the bar.

Many animals live in the mill yard.
There are sheep, pigs, goats, runner ducks, chickens and rabbits that are pampered daily by the courtyard residents. You will also find very loud geese, many birds, Moses the red cat and turtles!
The sheep are sheared once a year. Keep an eye on the calendar for the date.

Dutch mini pancakes (poffertjes) are baked fresh to order daily from 10:00 am.
