During NFFx030, the historic Sawmill of Molen de Ster turns into a cinema for one special night.

This year’s screening is The Promise, a powerful documentary that tells the story of the Papuans’ fight for freedom and self-determination.

Before the film, Vien Sawor, director of the Foundation of Cooperating Organizations for West Papua and featured in the documentary, and Insos Ireeuw, granddaughter of Marcus Wonggor Kaisiëpo, will share their personal perspectives. The evening closes with a Q&A with director Daan Veldhuizen.

The introduction and Q&A will be interpreted into Dutch Sign Language, and the film will be screened with Dutch subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
